"We are ready to distribute bags to the great people of Baltimore’s service and restaurant industry." - Hotel Revival Instagram
COVID-19 is stressful, tragic, and tough to comprehend for people around the globe. Amid the constant breaking news, people are looking for a bright spot. That’s where our partners at Hotel Revival stepped in.On Wednesday, March 25, Hotel Revival, with the help of some local partners and food distributors*, took “giving back” to the community into their own hands, or gloves, shall we say. Amidst this uncertain time, Hotel Revival and its partners came together to recognize and show small tokens of appreciation to the hardworking service and restaurant industry workers in Baltimore. With safety precautions in place (gloves on their hands, masks over their faces) care packages of food and other supplies were carefully assembled for a 4 p.m. curbside pickup.
According to Jason Bass, the co-found of The Night Brunch, one of Hotel Revival’s helping hands for this project, “the team gave out 150 bags at [Hotel Revival].” The online community responded with overwhelming support with comments like, “This is awesome!” and “This is incredible!” If your hotel and community partners are able, we encourage collaboration with local businesses near your hotel - or across town - to give back during this time. Whether this looks like providing food and supplies to those who need them or simply offering space in your hotel for others to rent, communities are stronger when they work together–especially in the face of a global crisis like COVID-19. *Other key contributors: Baltimore Restaurant Relief Group, Coastal Sunbelt Produce, The Night Brunch, Hungry Harvest, and Topside (bar at Hotel Revival)In addition to Wednesday's giveaway, Hotel Revival has continued to make quite the impact, having made and distributed over 600 brown bag lunches last Friday alone. Catch the team curbside continuing to care for their Baltimore community!
