We are presently in search of a super-sharp, success driven individual to join our growing digital marketing agency in the heart of LoDo.  The Head of Paid Search & Display Media will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day bid-based buying across SEM and display buying platforms. This role requires a tenured and thorough understanding of digital media buying, online marketing technologies, digital strategies, and performance marketing. Our perfect candidate will be an enthusiastic, proactive, detail-oriented, and hardworking professional and have extensive experience paid advertising campaigns.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the development, capabilities, and execution of paid search and display campaigns with a variety of goals across our clients’ campaigns.
  • Day to day management and professional development of a team of paid search specialists.
  • Develop account strategies, gain an understanding of campaign specific goals, build targeting, and execution recommendations.
  • Optimize and track the performance of paid media campaigns.
  • Lead monitoring and reporting of campaigns and proactively communicate any issues.
  • Actively review teams’ planning and apply learnings to create best-in-class executions.
  • Serve as SEM expert, platforms partner, and trend-spotter to bring first-to-market digital media opportunities that align with business objectives.
  • Develop and maintain strong professional relationships internally (cross departments) and externally (vendors).
  • Closely monitor and report trends, competitive strategies, and new offerings.
  • Rigorously monitor and optimize campaigns to ensure performance goals are met.
  • Brainstorm creative concept ideas and targeting tactics based on best practices for new ad tests
  • Communicate weekly progress on all client campaigns and provide insights that highlight the story behind the data.
  • Collaborate with other paid and earned media teams in the delivery of cohesive, integrated campaign planning and execution.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of digital media experience
  • Experience with programmatic buying platforms (DSPs).
  • Solid understanding of media concepts, terminology, and performance marketing.
  • Advanced paid search knowledge and experience in managing
  • Experience working with marketing attribution models and also digital reporting tools such as Google Analytics, Adobe is required.
  • Self-starter, highly motivated, positive demeanour, excellent communicator, and able to juggle multiple assignments simultaneously.
  • Polished with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills required and a strong interest in digital media platforms and technologies, with a desire to keep informed about new trends.
  • Abilities to identify inefficiencies and create efficient solutions, best practices and SOPs.
  • Excellent time management and organization skills. Able to set priorities for various tasks, and adapt to those priorities as needed.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel, including pivot tables, VLookup formulas, etc.
  • Works well both independently and collaboratively.
  • Positive and outgoing personality, with the professional demeanour and ability to relate well with team members, upper management, clients, and media partners. Impeccable character and high ethical standards.

The Account Executive’s primary goal is to ensure that client needs are met by being responsible for all aspects of client engagement within the Account Executives book of accounts. The Account Executive bears responsibility for the digital marketing strategy, budgeting, as well as the account’s growth and profitability.

This person needs a solid background in account management with mid to upper tier level clients and has demonstrated superior performance as an account manager. Advanced verbal and written communications skills, analytical thinking, personal organization, and interpersonal dynamics are required. The Account Executive must have a clear understanding of today’s marketing and advertising industry. A keen sense of entrepreneurship is essential.

What does it take to be successful in this role?

  • 2-3 years of agency-side account management or digital marketing experience across multiple disciplines
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, highly organized, passionate and honest
  • Project management experience and the ability to excel at juggling multiple projects and timelines at once
  • Knowledge of PPC, SEO, Display & Video Advertising, Email Marketing, Social Media Advertising, & Content Marketing
  • Comfortable leading internal/external conversations with clients, partners and team members
  • Desire to learn and become a thought leader in the digital marketing industry
  • Ability to make decisions and solve problems, while collaborating with team members, utilizing all resources available
  • Strong oral, problem-solving, communications, writing, negotiation and presentation skills
  • Must be well organized, display a professional demeanor, exude high energy and show attention to detail
  • Must be a confident, flexible, multi-tasker and be able to work independently

Responsibilities Include (but not limited to):

  • Responsible for all aspects of client engagement and management of all areas of service provision and for definition of account strategies
  • Serve as “Client Advocate” to our team members across all disciplines to ensure client objectives and goals are understood
  • Serve as extended team member to clients, providing digital strategy leadership and continuously-growing indispensability / trusted advisor status through customer insight and service excellence
  • Managing account level financials and project pipelines
  • Manage continuous communications across team members to ensure ongoing client needs are being met, strategies being continuously challenged and KPIs being achieved
  • Provide adequate exposure to clients so that each thinks of us as an extension of their team in a bid to develop future projects, be top-of-mind to execute projects and fend off competition.
  • Present company wide evidence of success and wins across all facets of account service provision and deliver vision relating to new and emerging technologies or channels
  • Understand competitors; continuing education and awareness of digital media trends
