Social distancing is ruff. But it’s especially tough for the dogs and cats who are displaced due to the restrictions placed on shelters. Many shelters are closing to the public and to adoptions, which means rescues are animals’ only shot at finding a home for the foreseeable future. With extra time on her hands, Screen Piloteer Mandy decided to foster Stan-Lee, a 1 or 2-year-old, cat-friendly lab mix. He’s adoptable through Mile High Canine Rescue!
Why We Decided to Foster
In general, we have always loved dogs. The only issue we had with potentially adopting a dog was because we aren’t home that often to maybe give it the love and attention it deserves. When this crisis emerged, we saw there was a need in the community to help out and we had the time to do so, so we did. Working remotely for several weeks seemed to be the perfect situation for us to help out in some way.
What We Love About Fostering
We are really loving how each day Stan Lee is getting more comfortable with us and our other furry friends. Each day he is understanding our routine of going out before work, then sitting outside mid-day once it is warmer. We also really like how he is making our one-mile time much faster with every run. We will not be gaining the COVID-19 lbs with him around.
Foster Life with Stan-Lee
Overall it has felt really rewarding to help Stan Lee out in a time of need. With so much chaos going on in the world, it is good to stare at an innocent pup and know everything is going to be alright. We will all get through this, we just need to take it one paw step at a time.
