The Comeback is Stronger Than the Setback

In the travel industry, the comeback is stronger than the setback.

Screen Pilot turned fifteen this year. In a different time, our agency would have marked the occasion with revelry.

Instead, we observed with a small, appropriately distanced gathering and a few Purell handshakes.

Despite the muted milestone, I can’t help but reflect on the past with anything but gratitude, and look forward with anything but enthusiasm.

When Screen Pilot formed in 2006, digital touchpoints were still relatively limited. Google was in its infancy. Facebook was exclusively for college students. The first iPhone was a year away from market.

Technology has evolved dramatically over the years, and fundamentally changed the way in which we help our clients tell their story, but technology is just one of the pillars our agency was founded on.

Screen Pilot was also built on a deeply held belief in the spirit of travel.

As an industry, the years have brought us our share of challenges – not the least of which have included natural disasters, economic downturns and a global pandemic – but Screen Pilot has navigated these setbacks secure in a belief that humans, at our core, yearn to understand the unknown, experience other cultures, indulge in new friendships, and find the growth that comes in doing so.

During the height of the pandemic, we remained steadfast in our support for our clients, our partners and the industry as a whole. We also took time to reflect on who we are as a firm, and what our journey should look like. Instead of turning on an industry that is the essence of why we continue to show up every day, we explored how we could deliver even more support and help reanimate our ecosystem.

We’re optimistic about the year ahead. Screen Pilot is abuzz with activity. We’re collaborating with our hotel partners to reconnect with the traveler in a fresh, personal and impactful way.

And today, more than ever, Screen Pilot still believes in the spirit of travel.

Busy as we are, I didn’t want this occasion to pass without recognizing the hundreds of hotel partners who have, through the years, invited Screen Pilot to be part of their journey. We’ve been proud to celebrate your successes, and are humbled that so many have invited us along.

Our agency’s growth and endurance would not have been possible, however, but for the talented, dedicated Screen Pilot team members who have been the bedrock of our success. We’ve retained some of the smartest, most creative professionals in the business, and I couldn’t be more proud of what our team has accomplished.

Fifteen years in, as we ready for the latest, incredible comeback, we do so with a steadfast belief in the spirit of travel, and a heartfelt promise to our clients;

We’re just getting started.
